Contacts

MCTerm is the MeshCore companion experience for LoRa packet communication. It combines the on-device GUI and the browser WebUI into one familiar workflow for contacts, channels, direct messages, map view and management.

The page follows the firmware display style: live status at the top, row-based information in the middle and the main menu at the bottom.

Quick overview
Contacts
Known mesh nodes with type badges, last activity, favourites, signal information, battery, GPS and telemetry where available.
USRRPTGPS
Msgs
Channels for group communication and direct-message threads for one-to-one conversations.
CHDM
Map
Your own position and GPS-enabled contacts, with offline or network map tiles depending on device setup.
MAPGPS
Mgmt
Settings and diagnostics for WiFi, BLE, UI, GPS, radio, adverts, messages, stats, logs, telemetry, channels, time and CLI.
WiFiBLECLI

Msgs

Channels
Public channel
Default open channel for nodes using the same radio settings.
PUB
Private channels
Channels can use a pre-shared key so only devices with the same key can read them.
PSK
Join by name, hashtag or Copy & Paste
Join a normal channel name, tap a hashtag reference, or copy and paste channel details such as name and key between devices.
#COPYPASTE
Message metadata
Channel messages can show path, RSSI, SNR, sender timestamp and overheard repeaters.
SNR
Direct messages and Quick Send
DM threads
Direct conversations are listed separately from channels and sorted by recent activity.
DM
Delivery state
Outgoing direct messages can show pending, delivered or not-delivered state.
ACK
Quick Send
A predefined short phrase from Mgmt → Messages can be sent to the currently active conversation by long-pressing the status bar centre.
QS
Clean channel flow
Channel management, direct-message threads and Quick Send are explained without issue references or code terminology.
GUI

Map

Map functions
Own position
The map can centre on your GPS position when the device has a valid fix.
ME
Node markers
GPS-enabled contacts appear as markers with the same identity colour used elsewhere.
GPS
Tiles
Map tiles can come from SD card storage or from network downloads over WiFi.
SDNET
Controls
Pan, zoom, select markers and jump back to your own location.
+
Field use

The map is meant for situational awareness: where your device is, which contacts advertise location data and how the local mesh looks around you.

Offline maps depend on prepared SD-card tiles. Network tiles require WiFi with internet access.
